Monday 23 February 2004 CONGRATULATIONS DARREN!

Darren Clark, of Newton, was the lucky winner of a trip for two to Japan thanks to JAL, Hilton Hotel and Bunnik Travel.

At Sunday's friendly match between Adelaide United and the Mitsubishi Urawa Red Diamonds, prior to kick off each player kicked a ball into the crowd - Darren caught the lucky ball and won himself the trip of a lifetime - it was that easy!

Darren and a companion will fly to Tokyo courtesy of JAL, and will spend 3 nights at the Tokyo Hilton. Whilst in Japan, they will be VIP guests at a Mitsubishi Urawa Red Diamonds J- League match.

Adelaide United got their first taste of international football when they faced up to J-League giants the Mitsubishi Urawa Red Diamonds. The Red Diamonds boasted a star studded line up which included numerous Japanese national team players, and young Brazilian ace Emerson, who wowed the crowd with blistering pace and sublime skills.

Adelaide United, who are approaching the NSL finals series, used the game as an opportunity to give its fringe players a 90 minute run, along with a number of young hopefuls from the SASF's Premier League.

Newton（訳注：地名）の Darren Clark は日本航空、ヒルトンホテル、Bunnik トラベル提供の日本への2日間の旅行に当選しました。

日曜日に行われた Adelaide United と三菱浦和レッドダイヤモンズとの親善試合で、キックオフの前に両チームの選手が観客の中にボールを蹴りいれ、－ Darren はそのラッキーボールを掴み、彼自身生涯の旅を勝ち取りました－それは簡単なことでした。

Darren と彼の友人は日本航空の特別席で東京へ飛び、Tokyo Hilton で3夜を過ごします。そして滞在中に三菱浦和レッドダイヤモンズのJ-Leagueの試合にVIPとして招かれます。

Adelaide United はJ-Leagueの巨人（訳注：読売じゃなくてｗ）三菱浦和レッドダイヤモンズに立ち向かう中で初めてインターナショナルなフットボールを味わいました。レッドダイヤモンズはたくさんの日本代表選手と若いブラジル人エースのエメルソンをそのラインナップにちりばめていることを誇っており、猛烈なペースと素晴らしい技術で観客を興奮させました。

Adelaide United は NSLの最後のシリーズを間近にしており、控え選手とSASFのプレミアリーグの何人かの有望な若手選手に90分プレーする機会を与えました。

ずいぶん大雑把な抽選をするんですな。
やはりこのへんがオージーということでしょうか（笑）

しかし三菱三菱と連呼すると思ったら、向こうには三菱自工のアデレード工場があるんですってね。つまり三菱とついている方が親しみやすいと。
あるいはこの合宿か試合のスポンサーになってるのかも知れないですね（いや、レッズ自体のスポンサーですからこの程度の宣伝はいくらやってもらっても結構ですが）。
